The finish is very slightly off, because it has been cleaned. I would call this VF-EF.

I recently asked for something unique, being a regular customer. To my much belated surprise that I just learned about tonight, the coin sent me was a most rare 1888. In VF condition. Had it a few weeks now, not realizing the kindness extended.

I recently received my 1882 $10 along with my 1893 $5.
A breath taking coin-Liberty heads are my favorite. As with my $5, it looks as though time forgot about it.
As if it hadn’t seen the the light of day.
I do purchase locally to help my community. Most of the “cleaned” coins, and XF coins I’ve picked up in my travels haven’t been close to the condition of the coins I receive from APMEX.

Very pleased. I’m a frequent customer, however, unlike what I usually do, I made a special request & asked for the moon to see what would happen. Bought 4 cleaned $10 Liberty coins & asked for a variety of 1800’s dates by decades and/or a couple of mint marks. Was pleased to get an 1880-P, 1882-P, 1903-S and 1906-D. I guess 3 of them were cleaned, but they were so close in tone and quality to the 1900-P PCGS M-62 coin I purchased earlier, I wouldn’t know. The most worn was the 1906-D. It looked like a cleaned high VF to XF coin by PCGS Photograde. All-in-all, APMEX met at least 75% of my “outrageous” request and I’m very pleased. Got a feeling there’s another order coming in the near future.

Recently pre-1933 gold coins have been selling relatively cheaply compared to modern bullion coins. This is in lovely condition for a non-numismatic coin. Will definitely be buying again.

I love the story behind pre 33 gold coins as they were once used in everyday transactions and helped with commerce. I think about the age of my coin as it relates to other historical monuments in my city and where our great country has come from.
